Family: My wife, Ruby, and I have been married for 58 years. We have three sons and a daughter and eight grandchildren. We've lived in the Palo Alto/Menlo Park area for almost 44 years.

Professional Experience: The Boeing Company, telemetry and radar design (1951-1955); Research Engineer to Associate Director, Information Sciences and Technology Center, Computer and Information Sciences Division, SRI International, management consultant and design/analysis of emergency communication systems (1955-1974 & 1979-1990); CEO, Law Enforcement Support Agency, Tacoma, Washington (1974-1978); Author or co-author of more than 80 professional papers and research reports; Editor of book, "Propagation Limitations in Remote Sensing" (1971).

Professional Honors: listed in American Men of Science; U.S. Government commendation for contribution as an Operation Dominic Project Officer (1962).

Public Service: U.S. Navy (1943-1947); USNR (1947-1958); I proposed the underground bypass for San Francisquito Creek in the `60s that the Corps of Engineers accepted as the less expensive and environmentally better alternative to their plan of making it another Los Angeles River (not accomplished due to lack of funds); Two terms, Board of Directors, Black Mountain Resource Conservation District (1968-1974); CEO, Law Enforcement Support Agency (LESA), Tacoma, Washington (1974-1978); Director, West Bay Sanitary District (1999-2003).

Labor Relations Experience: I have experience on both sides of the negotiating table. I was the Chief Negotiator representing 6000 union members in 1953 and again in 1954. On the other hand, as CEO I negotiated four annual contracts with the Teamsters Union, who represented the 100 employees of the Law Enforcement Support Agency.

Organizations: member, Menlo Park Bethany Lutheran Church; Board member, Masonic Lodge #651 [Menlo Park]; Sons In Retirement (Past Big SIR); active in SRI Alumni Association.

Avocation: Genealogy. I have published four books in the past twelve years about the 16,000 descendants of four different English immigrants to Colonial America.
