The questions were prepared by the LWV Cincinnati Area and asked of all candidates for this office.
Read the answers from all candidates.
1. How would you implement your top priority?
Emphasize phonics and basic math in the primary grades. And include geography, economics, and civics. Continue (and expand where possible) AP/honors classes and our gifted program. Re-instate the various levels of high school English classes that we had in the past, so that all our students will read good literature and be challenged at their own levels. Science, art, music, physical education, and technology should also remain strong.
2. How can the School Board work with local government and the community on use of school facilities for after school programs and recreations?
The Forest Hills Board of Education cooperates with Anderson Township Trustees and community organizations such as Youth Football leagues, Kiwanis basketball leagues, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and other groups for the use of school facilities. Also, the two high school tracks and tennis courts are open for use by the public after school hours.
