Why I am running for Mariemont School Board

This is a crucial time for our district, a time when experience counts. As a lifelong resident of Mariemont, parent of two Mariemont graduates and an experienced board member, I have the background and knowledge to make the right decisions for our district.

Our most pressing problem is maintaining the outstanding quality of our programs and our staff within current fiscal constraints. As a board member with a thorough knowledge of school finance, I pledge to continue to scrutinize expenditures and seek additional revenue sources. Additionally, I recognize that future levy amounts must be reasonable and carefully considered.

Since the failure of the levy in May 2002, the board has been forced to make difficult financial decisions. But by working together, we have continued to maintain Mariemont's outstanding educational program. My vision for the future is to enable all children to reach their potential and to offer as many enriching opportunities as possible.
