Candidate for
Council Member; City of Cincinnati

Born June 20, 1964 in Sidney, Ohio, John is the fourth child of Phyllis E. (Hatcher) & Frank J. Schlagetter, both deceased.

John received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from UC in 1989.

He worked in Cincinnati until 1996 when he returned to school full-time, receiving his Master's degree in Business Administration (Management Science & Logistics) from the University of Miami in 1998.

He practices architecture in Cincinnati and teaches at the College of Mount Saint Joseph.

Having lived in Clifton, University Heights, Fairview Heights, Over-the-Rhine, North Avondale & the West End, he and his partner currently live in East Price Hill and are restoring their 1868 Vernacular Victorian home, said to be the first built in the neighborhood and that of Stephen Wilder, father of Stephen H. Wilder of the Wilder Foundation fame.

John is a Board Member of the Charter Committee of Greater Cincinnati, Ohioans for Growth and Equality and Stonewall Cincinnati. He is a member of the Cincinnatus Association, Citizens for Civic Renewal and other civic organizations.

When not otherwise engaged, he has participated on The Week In Review on WDBZ, writes monthly for The Citizen Report, and reads voraciously.
