School Spending 5 Year TrendBy Ken R. WhiteCandidate for Board Member; Mariemont City School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Recent Cuts have not slowed Spending Growth which has increased by about $500,000 each year since 2000.My name is Ken White and I am running for the Mariemont City Board of Education. This is my first election and I need you vote. Let me comment on my number one issue: Fiscal Responsibility. I voted for the failed 2002 school levy and plan to vote for the upcoming 5.5 mill levy. The reason I am for this levy is we have no choice. Newspaper articles continue to claim that spending has been cut by about $1.7 Million; but actual Mariemont School Spending (State of Ohio website) is as follows:
I am running for the School Board because I fear we are headed for a financial crisis. If elected, I believe spending can be cut to less than 4% per year growth (6% now). I fear that an additional 8.5 mill levy in 3 years (mentioned as possible by the Board) would not pass. If this financial problem is not solved; the next crisis could be the quality of education. Please contact me at VOTE4KENWHITE@aol.com to express any comments and offer suggestions. Political documents are produced by the campaign committee "Vote Ken White for Schools". 3829 Settle Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45227. Joy Carlson, Treasurer. |
