Five Major Initiatives completed as Mayor: Completion of the Sacramento Riverfront Masterplan with the City of West Sacramento. Progress for downtown redevelopment and moving the future of the intermodal transportation center and redevelopment of the downtown railroad yard forward. Defeat of Measure T (November 2002) that would have forced the reduction of Utility User Tax with direct impact to City's General Fund. Leadership with the Mayors of the ten largest cities in California protecting City money and advocating for policies protecting cities from state impacts. Leadership in moving a statewide initiative forward in November 2004 protecting local government revenues from being taken by the State of California to balance state budget deficits. |
