Carlos Petroni is the Editor of Frontlines, the newspaper of the Left. He was the first to promote and endorse Matt Gonzalez for Mayor and he and Frontlines were key in winning Gonzalez' slot in the runoff. He played a key role in organizing the largest left rallies and forums to support Matt Gonzalez and helped organize hundreds of volunteers to work in the campaign.

Carlos has a background as a union organizer, progressive journalist and as a Latino community fighter. He is the co-coordinator of the campaign "Papers for All" demanding full amnesty for all undocumented immigrants; co-author of the Bayview Reparations Act; and co-author of the Proposition to extend voting rights to non-citizens for local elections.

He is the co-chair of the Immigrant Pride Day Organizing Committee and a member of the Organizing Committee of the 1st. Conference for a New Progressive Left Movement.
