I believe that all AC Transit riders, workers, and taxpayers deserve great service. Even if you don't ride the bus yourself, you probably have family, friends and neighbors who depend on AC for basic mobility. The status quo is not good enough.

Good transit service needs to be affordable. I support the "Kids' Pass" project so that low-income students can get free or reduced-price rides, and don't have to make a choice between eating and going to school. I respect seniors and people with disabilities, and will fight to keep fares low for them, also.

Good public transit can improve air quality and can improve our neighborhoods. The "Rapid Bus" service on San Pablo Avenue is a model that can lead to community improvements all along the corridor. Many people have been working on this project for many years, and I work well with them.

I believe in honesty and integrity. They have always been part of my life. Everyone who knows me will say that I am straightforward in my beliefs and passionate in supporting our bus service.

I have lived in Berkeley and Oakland nearly all of my life. I understand the needs of our communities, and I want to help make sure that we get the bus service that we deserve.
