Political Philosophy for Karen Pfeifer
Candidate for |

Priorities: #1 To acquire and build the trust of the community which elects the Board through open individual communication with transparency of all of my actions. That is to seek and value community input and to be answerable to the community for how that input is used. #2 To maintain and give voice to a decision making focus that prioritizes students and their support communities. Simply to ask consistently that each board action benefit our students and the community. #3 To promote programs and reimbursement packages that attract and retain an excellent teaching staff. We need to view the whole work environment of these valued employees and maximize their experience of work. We must seek the input and respect of individual teachers and of their union leadership. #4 To achieve a balanced budget that provides for the above. This is not merely the avoidance of debt but the careful management of our precious funds to be sure that our goals are met and waste is eliminated. Also, the Board must continue to advocate for local and statewide fiscal reform to enhance education at all levels. |
