Candidate for
Governing Board Member; El Dorado Union High School District; Full Term

I was born in Boston Massachusetts, one of eleven children. I attended Wheaton College,(MA) and received a Bachelors in Economics, Cum Laude. My husband and I moved to El Dorado County in 1973, shortly after our marriage. We have seven children, five of whom have graduated from Oakridge High School, and two of whom are currently in the Buckeye Elementary District. I attended McGeorge School of Law, graduating with the distinction in 1978. I am and have been an Officer/Director of Pacific States Development Corporation in El Dorado Hills. Upon graduating from McGeorge, I took a position as research attorney for the Superior Court in Placerville. In 1997 I was appointed as Superior Court Commissioner, assigned to hear the family and probate cases that are filed on the Western Slope. I "retired" from this position in 1996 and have opened my own practice, representing family law litigants as well as mediating family law cases. I continue to sit as a Judge Pro Tem on an as needed basis. My professional involvement includes Teen Court, Instructor for the California Judicial Education Program; Presenter at the California Family Law Reports Trial Advocay Program; Panelist for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) programs; contributing editor of the CEB Famiy Law Materials; Planning Member for the California Judicial Studies Programs; Board of Directors of the California Court Commissioners Association; Member of the California Judges Association, Family Law Subcommittee Member;Member of and advisor to the State Bar Family Law Executive Committee serving as the Legislative Liason; President of the El Dorado County Bar Association. I am a member of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce. I have served on the Boards of New Morning and El Dorado Council on Alcoholism; I served as a member of the Charter Board of Directors of Western Sierra Bank, Cameron Park. I am on the fundraising committee for the El Dorado Women's Center. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Marshall Hospital. In addition, I am a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum. In 1985 I ran for and was elected to the Buckeye Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees. I served on the board for four years. In 1995 I was appointed to complete an unexpired term on the El Dorado Union High School District Board of Trustees; I am now completing my ninth year on the Board, currently serving as President of the Board.
