- Make Santa Monica College better, not bigger, by focusing on instructional and counseling needs so more students will reach their educational goals
- Restore and support vocational courses that put students in jobs and meet community needs
- Seek to improve the faculty-staff/ administration relationship as well as provide good stewardship of funds
