Political Philosophy for Robert Greenstein Rader
Candidate for |

|
Santa Monica College is the number one transfer school to 4-year institutions (including the University of California system) of any community college in California. It also has incredible vocational programs, as well as an extraordinary Emeritus College for seniors. It is the finest community college in the nation. There has been a lot of strife between the administration and the faculty and staff at Santa Monica College over the last few years, exacerbated by the state budget crisis which resulted in some layoffs and program cancellations. I believe there is opportunity to reinvent some of those programs and to restore civility to the campus. As someone who purchases movies for MGM Studios, I negotiate for a living. As Chair of the Wilshire/Montana Neighborhood Coalition, the largest neighborhood group in Santa Monica, I have helped resolve many seemingly irreconcilable disputes between business and resident interests. As Finance Committee Chair of the Bayside District Corporation, which runs the Third Street Promenade, I have helped all businesses prosper. As a homeowner, I am attuned to the needs of Santa Monica and as a professor at Pepperdine, I am sensitive to the needs of Malibu. For more for more information, please visit my website: |
