The Good Life, Lake Forest. This was the promise made to the first families moving to Lake Forest. It is what brought my parents here. Jeff believes the Good Life means it is a wonderful place to raise your family. Good schools, beautiful and safe neighborhoods with exceptional athletic activities for the children. Jeff will work to keep that promise. As the father of six, Jeff has a keen interest and understanding of how the state of the city + from its business base to safety and parks -- impacts future generations.

Jeff Carta first moved to Lake Forest in 1971 and has seen it grow from a small town to a wonderful city. He has seen Lake Forest live up to its goal of being a great place to raise your family. His parents believed it and so do Jeff and his wife, Theresa. Jeff's goal is to help make Lake Forest the best city it can be.

One-third of Lake Forest's revenue is generated from sales taxes collected within our city. We need to grow the revenue by attracting new business to fill the vacant space that exists in too many of our shopping centers. That is key to strengthening our city's finances which will allow us to keep Lake Forest a great place to live, work and raise our families.

As a young boy who played Pop Warner football, Little League baseball, high school and junior college sports, Jeff also knows the value of sports to a family and a community. So while exploring locations to build new sports facilities within our city, we cannot overlook the need to improve our current parks. The recent improvement of Hero's Park is a good start.

Our home values are at an all-time high. The city must retain the beauty of our neighborhoods to maintain our increasing home prices. Jeff's interest is in what is best for the families of our community. Jeff and Theresa are still raising two children and feel a personal need to see this city be the best it can be.
