What I believe the College should be.I believe in a strong community college system serving the needs of the community in which it resides. College of the Desert is located in an expanding area and needs to be on the cutting edge. We live in times of rapidly changing technology and need an institution that not only educates the young person but serves as a resource for those needing to keep abreast of changing technologies. The College must provide a solid education that includes the requirements for those wishing to seek further degrees. It also must be a place of opportunity for those seeking a vocation or the skills for advancement. It must serve those desiring a career change as well as those who are reentering the job market after divorce or retirement. I will bring to the board of trustees the combined perspective of being a recent full time student at the College as well as many years of life experience in business and science. When called upon to make a decision the first question I will ask " Is it good for the students?" |
