My career in public schools uniquely qualifies me to serve on our School Board. While I served as principal of Sacramento's Camellia Basic School, from 1988 - 1998, it became one of California's Top 100 schools and a National Magnet School of Merit. Youth on the Move inducted me into their Educator's Hall of Fame. Before Camellia, I was a successful teacher, elementary and high school principal, director of research, assistant superintendent, coooege professor and dean. Since retiring, I've worked with staff and parents in 18 schools and 5 districts to improve their schools. The California Department of Education certified me to assist schools in improving achievement. I know what it means to be accountable. I hnow what it takes to run our School District and earn families' trust. I hnow the right questions to ask when evaluation our programs. I hnow how to ensure that every budget dollar improves our schools. i know how to draw on the wisdom of our students, staff, parents and community members. I know how our Board can improve Sacramento's schools. Your vote gives me the opportunity to put my knowledge and experience to work for the future of our children.
