--Improve academic achievement by focusing on increasing parental involvement. I have found that more parents will participate if they believe that doing so will make a difference. Children whose parents participate are more motivated to do well in school.

--Work to ensure that each child in the District has an equivalent opportunity for success. We must see that schools have equal resources, parental support, diversity, and staffing skills.

--Provide a range of learning options in the District that meet the needs of all students. Teachers need to learn to address a wide variety of needs and the schools need a broad variety of learning options so that everyone learns.

--Support the hiring, training, and retention of the highest caliber teachers and administrators, paying them a fair salary.

--Focus on core curriculum while protecting critical enrichment programs.

--Make myself available to parents, staff, and community members who are interested in improving our schools.

--Establish short and long term plans for needed construction and incorporate green building strategies.

--Develop solutions for workforce housing needs of teachers and staff.
