Candidate for
City Council Member; City of Goleta

I am a 27 year resident of Goleta with deep roots in the community.

My wife Cindy and I recently celebrated our 32nd anniversary. Cindy and I are the proud parent of two sons who both serve the community in local law enforcement; one as a sergeant with the Sheriff's Department and the other as a patrolman with the Santa Barbara Police Department.

We also have 3 wonderful grandchildren.

One of the reasons I'm running for city council is to do my part to provide my grandchildren with a future we all can be proud of.

As for my background, I spent the better part of two decades protecting the health and safety of our local citizens as a California Highway Patrol Officer. In my service to the local community, I was one of the few highly trained officers respected enough to be assigned to then President Regan's protective detail. It was an enormous responsibility and honor to have the public's trust and be in a position of authority.

It's not something I treat lightly.

Upon retiring from the CHP I went back to school and received a mechanical engineering degree from Cal State Northridge. This degree was critical in advancing my present career as a professional accident reconstruction consultant. In that capacity, I'm challenged daily to deal with many facts and information in order to arrive at the truth about an accident. Furthermore, I'm often required to testify under oath about my findings.

My career has taught me a lot about solving complex problems and the challenges of dealing with competing interests.

I feel the skills I've learned and the ethics I bring to the table make me uniquely qualified to serve as your city councilmember.
