REPRESENTATIONBy Colleen Corrigan-ArmstrongCandidate for Council Member; City of Capitola | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The City of Capitola needs a City Council that responds to its needs and wants. Our financially health of vital to maintain a healthy city.I feel that the City of Capitola needs to listen to ALL of its residents, not just a few. This is a small and amazingly wonderful community full of great people who want to be more involved but either don't know how or don't feel like they are being listened to. City Council is there to represent everyone. What makes our city great is that we are truly a diverse community especially with respect to age. There are families that are being overlooked in terms of their needs. I want to change that. I believe that our funds need to be reassessed as to how to better our whole community. As I go out and meet people, I have come to realize that there is a tremendous want of our community to get more involved and I want to be there, in City Council, as a representative of the people. As such, having a balanced budget is important. We need to look at our City's priorities for our citizens, not those of a few developers. We need to take care of what we have first before we build even more to take care of. |
