VWD customers have one of the best records for water conservation. Recent regional statistics point to a laxing of conservation measures. It is paramount that renewing VWD outreach programs to all of our customers on the importance of continued conservation. Equally, important to regional and statewide conservation is to use VWD Board member political acumen and experience to expand water conservation culture and programs to ALL water districts within California. There are several water districts in other parts of California that do very little or nothing to promote and encourage water conservation to the extent done in the San Diego County region. A political strategy and lobbying effort should be used to influence All water districts statewide to push water conservation as a primary tool on water consumption. As your elected VWD--Division 5 representative, I am committed to providing this type of lobbying and representation on a statewide basis. |
