Maintain taxpayer control of your fire district and tax dollars.By Larry JackmanCandidate for Board Member; San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Firefighter's labor union, Local 1434, is attempting to take over your fire district.Subsequent to the current board of directors refusing to acquiesce to labor's unaffordable contract demands, the firefighter's labor union political action committee (PAC) recruited a slate of four candidates to run against the incumbents. In an effort to gain control of the fireboard, the labor union's PAC is spending vast amounts of money to influence the vote of the community. The labor union is seeking short-term financial gain for its members without consideration to the long-term cost and implications to taxpayers. The labor union is willing to sacrifice 50 years of combined professional experience and essential community involvement by the dedicated, hard working incumbents, in exchange for putting their own inexperienced people on the fireboard to do their bidding. Given the tragic events of 9/11 and the recent Cedar fire, the labor union is taking advantage of the public's goodwill and admiration of firefighters to capitalize on soliciting the unaware voter.
