A Few Things You Should Know About Me

By Fawn A. Nekton

Candidate for Board Member, 4 Year; Harmony Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
My candidacy for the Harmony Union School Board continues a life long involvement and commitment to our school district and community. My family moved to Occidental in 1974 to raise a family outside of the hustle and bustle of "The City and the Bay Area". Occidental was a close-knit hamlet with a wonderful mix of artisans, professionals, and generations-old families that took pride in the community, respected one-another, and came together for the common good. I am continuing that tradition.

Currently, I represent the district on the "Friends of West County Schools", a non-partisan political action committee unified in our efforts to provide financial support to our schools. I am also on the Board of The Occidental Community Council, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying and meeting the unmet needs of people living in the Occidental area.

Over the past 2 ½ years I have attended nearly every Harmony School Board meeting. During that time, I've familiarized myself with the issues facing our school, the current Board Members, and the Administration. I'm excited by the opportunity to contribute to the management this District. I posses the skills, background, knowledge, and desire to help our school achieve our most important goal~ providing all our children with an exceptional educational experience.
