Sonoma County, CA | November 2, 2004 Election |
Candidate StatementBy Patrick L. WoffordCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Sonoma | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As chair of the local anti-casino effort, a leading advocate on behalf of bike and pedestrian safety, I'm proud to ask for your support for Sonoma City Council. I have attended almost every City Council meeting for the past 2 years learning about issues that affect our community and hearing many viewpoints. I have also taken an active role in finding solutions. No other non-incumbent has participated in such an ongoing way at Council meetings. My concerns: Improving traffic and pedestrian/bike safety by continuing to provide focus and leadership - we have a long way to go to reach our goal! Protecting Sonoma's environmental attributes for long-term lifestyle and economic benefits rather then short-term economic gain. Investing in children and seniors to insure that they get the special attention they need to thrive. Helping to provide affordable local home ownership opportunities especially for teachers, firefighters, and others in public service and protecting our current housing stock. I'm a native son of Sonoma County, a small business owner and the lucky father of a 7-year-old girl. My partner and wife Dawn is a nurse at Sonoma Valley Hospital. l respectfully ask for your vote and support. |
