My reasons for runningI moved to Santa Paula from Torrance over 26-years ago and have made this my home. I am a Sergeant with the Santa Paula Police Department and know first-hand what the lack of education does to our youth. I have seen kids turn to gangs and drugs, abandoning their education for a life on the streets. Many of these have ended up dead or in prison. Our youth deserve a quality education in order to have hope for the future, and that is why I decided to run for the board. I intend to see to it that the teacher in the classroom gets everything they need to effectively teach our kids. I am a past President of our Police Association and I understand bargaining, that we must compensate our teachers in order to attract the best available educators to our schools. I have an AS degree in Criminal Justice. I will make certain that the money that is given to us to educate the children goes into the classroom, and is not wasted on bureaucracy. I pledge to give my utmost to the board and will honor your trust in me. Thank you for your vote. |
