Candidate for
Council Member; City of Pico Rivera

David W. Armenta was born in the City of Commerce in 1950. At age 14, David and his family moved and settled in the City of Pico Rivera, where he attended Burke Jr. High and graduated from El Rancho High School in 1968.

David then attended and graduated from Rio Hondo College. He pursued higher education and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands. David continued his education and successfully earned his Masters Degree in Public Law & Contracts from Northrop University Law Center.

With his education and experience in business and contracts, David started two successful small businesses since 1990; and, in 2001, he started Armenta & Associates, a municipal consulting company to help local governments, public agencies and private business.

David has also demonstrated his commitment and dedication to his son, Kevin. David raised Kevin as a single parent and nurtured a close bond and instilled a strong belief in honesty, integrity, moral values, and higher education. Kevin graduated from St. Paul High School with Honors in 1998 and also graduated with Honors from St. John's University in which he earned his Bachelors Degree in 2002. Kevin is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Sociology at CSULA.

David and Kevin have nurtured a close relationship with David's parents, Celedon and Mary Armenta. To this day, David maintains a close and deep relationship with his parents who are both long time residents of Pico Rivera.

In David's leisure time, he has coached baseball with Rivera Baseball Association and helps with our youth and senior organizations.

As Mayor Pro Tem, David has worked with and helped numerous Pico Rivera community organizations including schools and Neighborhood Watch programs. David also represents the City of Pico Rivera as a delegate in the California Contract Cities Association. As a delegate, he serves in the following committees: Budget and Audit, By-Laws, City County Contract, Legislative, Selection, and Special Events.
