Political Philosophy for James A "Jim" Light
Candidate for |

|
I believe Redondo has had a history of ignoring current residents and favoring residential developers. I believe preserving or improving resident quality of life should be the priority of our city council. Based on my research, I also believe that residential over development loses money for any town in the long run. That is why our schools are overcrowded and deteriorating, our highways are clogged, our sewers needed an emergency $10M bond, our emergency rooms divert ambulance traffic 20% of the time, our air pollution is increasing aftr two decades of decrease, and our beaches have to be closed after rainstorms. Emphasis should be put on making a healthy business environment for our city rather than packing more people in. Therefore, I am against increased residential development. I am for creation of more open space. I am for budget priorities that include: public health and safety, healthy business environment, and preservation and enhancement of quality of life. |
