Candidate for Mayor; City of San Diego

Proactive, that is the word City Hall must learn.
So the latest report is that San Diego has the 6th worst roads in the nation. I guess that is no surprise to anyone that drives around in Mission or Fashion Valley, or works downtown. What are they doing down there in City Hall, I'll tell you what they are doing, they are spending time discussing how they can spend money on research of buildings such as Skateworld because of its "historical significance".

I suppose one would think that I am not a very `cultured' person to not care about the historical significance of buildings in San Diego. You can think that, but I look at it more from the standpoint that at this point in time, we have "bigger fish to fry" and if the people in City Hall would have done their job properly they would have plenty of time and money to research all the buildings they want.

The same logic applies to projects such as the under grounding of electrical lines. From a safety and beauty standpoint, it is an excellent idea, but now is not the time. The lines have been there for many years, and I've personally seen a few replaced in my years in San Diego, but due to our current situation, I think that should be shelved for several years until proper plans can be made for other things.

Our sewer system is one of those things. Those residents that are north of Fashion Valley and west of the 163 know exactly what I'm talking about. Proactive, now that is a word that I don't think the people in City Hall have used in quite some time, however it will be the backbone of all my plans.
