This Board has adopted a district wide curriculumThe goal of the Bellflower Unified School District is to provide a quality education for all students. During my tenure as a Board member, to insure that we are reaching this goal the district has adopted districtwide textbooks and curricular materials, developed and implemented academic standards, established benchmark assessments for every grade level, and instructional pacing within each discipline. The results of our efforts have been impressive, with eight of our schools achieving the prestigious honor of being recognized as California Distinguished Schools, two have been honored as National Blue Ribbon Schools, and all three of our secondary schools have been fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, the district's continuation high school was honored with the title of California Model Continuation High School, and our Regional Occupational programs have received statewide recognitions. As proud as we are of these honors, we are prouder of the parents, the children, teachers and all of the support personnel who work hard everyday to maintain these high standards established by this Board of Education. |
