Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Lennox Elementary School District

I am a product of the Lennox School District. I attended Larch elementary up until the construction of the 105 freeway. I continued my elementary education in Moffett when it first opened its door to the children of Lennox in 1991. I then attended Lennox Middle School (LMS) and graduated in 1994. My high school years were spent in Hawthorne High School and graduated in 1998. That same year, in the fall, I entered El Camino Community College. I graduated from El Camino College with an AA degree in Psychology in 2000. I then transferred to California State University Long Beach and graduated in 2004 with my Bachelor degree in Psychology and minor in Women Studies. I am presently working towards my Masters degree in Chicano Latino Studies and Public Policy and Administration at Cal. State Long Beach. In my studies, I have come to understand that Latinos such as myself, who were raised in the United States of America and have been able to take advantage of the excellent educational opportunities available to us, are duty bound to return to our communities to become instruments of change. It is time for me to become a part of this change process. I am very proud of my Lennox community and would be honored to play a part in its future.
