Political Philosophy for Marilynn Merritt Holcomb
Candidate for |
[What follows are two of my statements from the candidates forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters at Mira Costa High School on October 24, 2005.] School is not a just a place to go to, it is a place to belong to. We want all of our students to feel like they belong at the MBUSD and that the MBUSD wants them here. "We" is much more powerful than "me." I am asking you to give me an opportunity to be apart of the "we" diverse school board team that is seeking to meet the current and future needs of all of our students. At the end of my four-year term, I want you to be able to say, "They listened to us." |
