Having been an active parent when my first foster son started attending Claremont High School in 1995, I discovered how important parents are to the Claremont schools. Since serving as a Parent Booster for CHS Sports and now as a Parent Booster for the El Roble Music program, I see how the schools need help from an involved community. The Board of Education has five members with only one of them having a child in Claremont's schools. I am running because the voice of parents should be on the School Board. I have seen firsthand how the District needs the involvement of parents to provide a quality education. I support the District's mission that the students who leave our schools do so with a wide range of career and educa-tional opportunities. As a teacher for 17 years, I have firsthand experience with a number of curricular pro-grams and educational reforms. I will use my exper-tise to help the school Dis-trict reach its stated goal of reviewing and supporting ideas that enhance instruc-tional delivery for all students. |
