Full Biography for David C. Crowley
Candidate for |
David Crowley's personal journey started many years ago on the streets of Mount Adams where he helped his father, a small business owner, turn out voters in the 8th ward. He went on to attend Xavier University and receive Master’s Degrees in social work and international affairs from Ohio State University and George Washington University, respectively. Crowley was appointed the first Executive Director of the Ohio Commission on Aging by then Governor John Gilligan. In this new position, David realized his true appreciation and concern for the elderly. Still in his current role as Cincinnati Councilman, David has worked hard to protect the rights of older citizens. Crowley's career took a turn in 1983 when he accepted a director position in the Peace Corps, allowing him to lead relief and development efforts in poverty stricken countries, including West Africa, Nepal, Thailand, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia, the Caribbean and Cameroon. Being able to help so many people in devastating circumstances gave David a much clearer appreciation for everything he has been given as an American. |
