This is the most challenging economic development project we face in Loveland. We have made some progress in recent years, but we still have a long way to go. Some of us on Council have been supporting a multi-phased approach to making improvements to this corridor to improve the aesthetics and to help draw investment dollars to the area. We implemented an Overlay District that is guiding any new development or redevelopment in the corridor that will, among other things, bring more uniformity to the corridor and to make it a more attractive place to shop and do business. The new welcome sign along L-M Road (where the cardboard recycling dumpster used to be) is also helping to make the area more welcoming and attractive. While neither of these efforts are a 'silver bullet' to improve the corridor, steps like these, along with the upcoming phases of the L-M Road Revitalization program, will finally bring that entire corridor to its best use as an attractive, family-friendly 'Main Street' thoroughfare that we can be proud of. We are already seeing some exciting interest in the way of redevelopment dollars in various projects along the corridor.
