Candidate for
Director; Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District

A professional airline pilot and a graduate of the US Air Force Academy, I hold a BS with a major in Management and an MS in Engineering Systems Management. I've lived in Kensington since 2001.

At a Town Hall meeting a year ago, KCC Administrator Esther Hill inspired me to get involved with my community. After attending meetings of several Kensington community groups, I joined a team of citizens tasked with preparing a brochure to help building permit applicants and their impacted neighbors navigate Kensington's new zoning ordinance.

Recognizing a need for Disaster Preparedness in my neighborhood, I reached out to my neighbors. I was appointed Block Captain, and I worked to organize the households on my street for Disaster Preparedness and Crime Prevention. I've visited with police officers and fire fighters, and have now attended over 12 KPPCSD meetings. At the KPPCSD meetings, I found the place where I believe I can best serve my community.

As a member of the KPPCSD board, I will listen respectfully to citizen concerns, and I will encourage citizens to share their valuable skills and expertise. I am committed to improving our community's ability to oversee the management of police services. I will work for a police department where morale is high and crime prevention is a top priority. I will work to continue improving our community park. I will work to provide Kensington with additional cost-effective opportunities to recycle.
