Save money, create added value, use local talentOrinda's schools rank among the very top in the state, because of efforts made by the schools, parents,YOU and ME. WE ensure that our students get a top education that will help them succeed in our state, nation and world. WE are maintaining our educational programs - at the expense of continual cost increases. Improvement is an ongoing challenge. As a successful business founder and owner, my skills will be helpful, and appropriate, in both reducing costs and increasing the output (better-educated kids). As a property owner, I would like to continue improving our schools - good schools help increase values and good neighbors! I believe that here in Orinda are people whose assets we have not yet begun to use (because we haven't asked them) . . . I believe my experience will lend both a business and a local perspective. I have lived in Orinda for twenty years and in the area for thirty. My higher education was at St. Mary's (after my Army active duty), and then UC Berkeley and San Jose State. Finally back to St. Mary's for an MBA . We need to do all that we can to find creative ways to add more excellent teachers. Some of these, I believe, can already be found among us, waiting to be asked to help. Our school board must develop new ideas to help preserve and improve our educational programs. And, we have to do it for ourselves and not count on outside political bodies. I live here, I have a phone, and I have e-mail. I'm asking for your suggestions, help, and vote.
