MIKE ALVAREZ IS THE MOST EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF ORANGE. VOTE MIKE ALVAREZ ON TUESDAY, NOV. 7THMike Alvarez is the most experienced candidate seeking the Office of Mayor of Orange. Mike served on the city Planning Commission and was elected to two terms on the City Council, from 1996 to 2004, the maximum allowed under city term limits, and served as Mayor Pro Tem. Mike served as a member of the Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) that governs the operations of the Foothill/Eastern Corridor Toll Roads in Orange County. He served as a member of the Board of Directors in 2001 of the Orange County Sanitation District, Orange County Fire Ant Authority, (1996-2001, Orange County Vector Control (1997-2001). He also represented the City of Orange on the Orange County Regional Highway Planning Board and the Orange County Growth Management Board. Mike served as an Associate Member of the El Toro Reuse Planning Authority, and he is a Founding Member of the Great Park of Orange County Foundation. Prior to being elected to public office, Mike was elected President, Downtown Business Owner's Association, on the Board of Directors of the Orange Chamber of Commerce, as President of the non-profit Friends of the Orange Public Library, and as a city-appointed representative to the Old Towne Steering Committee. He served as a member of Leadership Orange, a civic organization that trains future community leaders. |
