Political Philosophy for Dean Grose
Candidate for |
Los Alamitos has a unique small town atmospher and charm which is one of the reasons we all live here. As your Council representative, I will work to preserve the quality of life we enjoy for future generations by making sure we retain our efficient police department and protect our parks and recreation programs that are so important for leisure enjoyment. I want to see improved youth involvement in local government and program for our seniors enhanced. There are challenges facing Los Alamitos, where we've seen changes in nearly all key city management levels within the last 24 months. Mid-level management personnel have also departed. Wonder why, what's going on? There are explanations but there is a lack of open disclosure when it comes to the management of our City as well as spending program that has been termed "out of control". Even the Assistant City Manager and Finance Director has resigned, and that role is being temporarily filled by an assistant to the City Manager who has been on board for less than two months. We must implement tighter spending controls immediately to ensure a more cost-efficient use of our financial resources. As a small business owner for 26 years, I have the operational and financial skills to contribute and enhance my role as a Council Member. I will seek increased tax generating businesses and ensure proper use of City resources to benefit all residents. |
