The Water District is about a sustainable supply of water for all who participate.The Water district is about safe water. Safe Water now and in the future. The District presently gets its water only from wells. There are issues with the supply of water that reach biological, chemical, taste and pressure/flow parameters. Most importantly the issue is that when the tap is opened, that safe water comes out, at a volume that is sufficient for those who need it. The employees of the District do a great job delivering safe water. They deserve to be paid as much as others who do their job that live in communities nearby. From a viepoint of value to the District it is important that we retain our employees because they do a good job. Good employees are a big step in continuing to provide safe water. It costs the District too much to maintain pay policies that allow nearby districts to poach our trained employees. The Board of Directors has been in conflict with the employees until a recent fair contract was signed. I'm proud to be a leader in having that contract in place. |
