By NOT accepting money and endorsements from businesses, groups, unions, or political parties I will be free of conflicts of interest.When I was asked to be a candidate for city council, I agreed now because I want to demonstrate how a "clean money" campaign can work. I am accepting endorsements from individuals only, and contributions of money of under $100 from individuals only. The ability to raise large amounts of money is no indication of how effective a person will be as an elected official. By deliberately NOT accepting anything from businesses or groups, I will be free to make decisions based on facts and objective analysis. |
