Here are three reasons why Avie is a great choice to represent your voice.

Everyone should have an equal voice when it comes to our schools. My role as a school board member carries beyond the board room and into the community. During my day-to-day activities, I actively approach local residents so that I can introduce myself and give them a chance to share their thoughts, questions, or concerns regarding school issues. It is always a pleasure to meet parents, students, and other community members and hear what they have to say.

Experience in Our District:

Having 8 years experience serving the needs of our students and schools, I have first hand knowledge of the process involved in creating positive change. My significant experience and background knowledge of district procedure will be essential in order to ensure smooth transitions as our district continues to more forward in support of evolving community needs.

Experience as a Parent and a Teacher:

In my role as Board President, I am fortunate to be able to view school issues from the perspective of a parent and a teacher given the many years of experience I have had in both of these roles. I know that parents and teachers often have different concerns, and it is important for a board member to recognize and address this each time an issue is brought before the board. Much of my career in education has been spent working with disadvantaged youth that represented a multitude of learning styles and needs. Making sure that all student are given the support they need and the right environment so that they can succeed is one of my top priorities.
