Political Philosophy for Scott Kleinberg
Candidate for |
Our local schools are well-regarded, and are in a well-run and financially stable district. We can continue to improve them and I am asking for your vote. My financial background -- a CPA, CFO for several local technology companies, and an MBA from Santa Clara University -- has added to the breadth of board leadership during a time of great uncertainty from Sacramento. With real-world experience in management and organizational oversight, and with two children in district schools now, I provide a distinct perspective to the board. School is about students and learning. Too often the focus is on secondary issues, rather than on key programs such as full-day kindergarten, qualified art and music instruction, and after-school activities. Buildings and pay scales are important, but we must be careful when prioritizing them ahead of our kids. Targeted intervention programs for struggling students, and enrichment programs for all students demand our attention and funding. We need to provide a balanced education that challenges students to succeed and develops well-rounded young adults with strong character. While there are no easy answers, I am committed to a process that includes communication with parents, teachers and taxpayers; appropriate oversight (without micro-managing); and integrity and accountability. Please take time to vote and please choose me to be your voice for our schools. |
