Political Philosophy for Art Maurice
Candidate for |

|
My name is Art Maurice and I am running for San Jose City Council in District 6. When I was president of the Cory Neighborhood Association it became clear to me that the best way to make a neighborhood better was to communicate with the residents. That's what I've done and continue to do in my neighborhood. But District 6 extends farther than the Cory neighborhood so I have been involved with the District 6 Neighborhood Leaders Association where the leaders of District 6 neighborhoods discuss their issues and ideas. I have also attended the Community Cafes put on by the Neighborhood Development Center where neighborhood associations, both within and outside District 6, get together and share projects that have worked or failed in their neighborhoods. By sharing this information all of San Jose communities become stronger, safer and better places to live. I want to continue this progress by: Working with the communities and their leaders to understand their issues and work together to find a solution. Working with schools to make them better and safer for our kids. Working with industry to maintain the steady growth of San Jose and maintain our technological edge. |
