Political Philosophy for Joseph J. "Joe" Palla
Candidate for |
My goal is to improve our "quality of life." I will work hard to: Improve our "quality of life; Preserve our hillsides; keep the casino out of Cloverdale; promote and develop a healthy business environment in the downtown corridor; bring quality youth and senior programs online; build strong police, fire and emergency health services; adopt urban growth boundaries; identify and attempt to resolve community concerns over traffic related issues; develop a long range economic plan to improve services and ensure that the city stays on path to fiscal stability; develop a strategic plan to address current and future city water and sewer needs; provide more policy direction to staff to make sure city government is responsive to community needs. What I love most about Cloverdale is the small town that it is. I support smart growth, oppose sprawl, and promote open space. I do not support development on our hillsides. I support pedestrian-friendly development, combining residential and commercial uses, in the downtown core. |
