Introduction letterDear friends and neighbors: As you may know by now, I am officially running for Mayor of Azusa in the next municipal election that will be held on March 6, 2007. I am writing to you today to ask you for your support. There are many reasons why I have decided to run for Mayor. One of them is that this wonderful town has been my home for 61 years. It is here where I met my wife, Linda and together raised our children. It is here where I met many of you + who I am proud to call my friends and neighbors. For 38 years, I taught many of you and your children. You trusted me with that great responsibility. The main reason that I will seek the office of Mayor is because many of you have asked me to do so. The support I have received from all of you is overwhelming. I will be a Mayor for all of Azusa. I will ensure that our city continues to grow and prosper. My voting record proves that I believe in growth; but I also must emphasize that every development must take into consideration its impact on the Azusa family and our natural resources. For every decision that I will make, I will ask: Is my decision good for Azusa now and in the future? All brick and mortar must take into account the heart and soul of our community -- our youth, our seniors and our families. I voted for many of the new projects throughout our city including the second Rosedale project, which I was the co-chair. I also voted for Mountain Cove. Other projects I voted for include the CVS drug store, Quizno's, Subway, Cingular Cellular, the Dr. Reyes Building, the Breezeway and the Wade-Talley Building. Just to name a few. I will continue to support such development and growth in our city. I will also preserve our natural resources and open space, and oppose any future mining operations in our foothills. I plan to run my campaign the same way I take on any task--with God at the helm, with honesty, vigor, hard work and dedication to all of you. That's why your support is so important to me. I am humbly asking for your vote to help me become your Mayor. With your support, I am confident we will succeed. After all, the brave men and women who served and are currently serving in our armed forces, our children, our Azusa families and our community deserve an Azusa that they will be proud to call home. If you have any questions or concerns you would like me to address, please don't hesitate to call me at (626) 334-1582. Sincerely, Joe Rocha Azusa Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem P.S. I look forward to your continued support and vote on March 6, 2007! |
