Emergency Medical Services TaxBy Tom ScolaCandidate for Commissioner; Township of Haverford; Ward 1; Republican Party | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The Emergency Medical Services Tax should be repealed. The Emergency Medical Services Tax is unfair to our Senior Citizens. Those citizens who choose to supplement their pension incomes with local part time jobs are burdened with an unfair tax. Most are not eligible for a refund of that tax as the method of computing qualification for exemption requires the inclusion of all sources of income including their pensions. Further, the proceeds of this tax are not used for Emergency Medical Services but rather are placed into the general funds of the township to use for any purpose. |
