Biography of Janet Chin

"Everything I've done so far was practice for what I am doing now."

Janet Chin is a community leader whose lifelong goal is enriching the lives of children. The youngest grand daughter of one of the founding fathers of the Fa Yuen Chinese Benevolent Association has literally brought Chin back to her roots. Taught early on that hard work and help from fellow community members is a must to succeed, Chin always looks for opportunities to better her community. She learned the importance of being mission oriented and establishing great teamwork ethic having served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Army receiving meritorious and Army Achievement awards. She put herself through college majoring in Business Production and Communications and working in the Entertainment Field as an actor, casting director, acting coach, and special events producer. While working full time, Chin made time to teach life skills workshops in AVID classes at local LAUSD high schools. As President and CEO of Mobile Gift Wrap, Inc., she adapted the knack for creating and linking people to network.
