Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Westlake Village

I have been married for 23 years to my fabulous husband, Ray. I have two great stepsons and a adorable 12-year granddaughter.

Prior to my marrying Ray, I was the Corporate Litigation and Insurance Administrator for a publicly-held Engineering & Architectural Design firm with 27 subsidiaries throughout the United States and abroad. I was responsible for all litigation review, reserves and dispute resolution, insurance renewals and negotiations with policies of 20 million dollar limits, the implementation of Risk Management Programs and budget reviews for the 27 subsidiaries.

Ray and I moved to this unique and charming Village 20 years ago and formed the Sensible Growth Committee. I was the Vice-President of Westlake Island POA and served for 3 years. I led in the design and development of our gatehouse and entryway and the landscaping and lighting of all greenbelts and common areas. I served on the Westlake Lake Management Association (WLMA) Board, the Executive Board and as Chairperson for the Rules & Regulations Committee for a period of 4 years. I am currently in my second term as Vice-President, of the Angel's Board of Directors for Casa Pacifica, I have served on the Board of Directors, of Westlake Yacht Club, as Chairperson, for the Charity Regattas, for 3 years, and Volunteer for Villa Esperenza's Hope Chest for 2 years. I am currently a Member of the Westlake Village Women's Club, and a Member of the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village and Conejo Valley Chambers of Commerce.

I seek to unify our community with the goal of preserving Westlake as a "Village". To safeguard against over-development, excessive traffic and projects that destroy our quality of life.

I have seen many changes in the past 20 years. Some good, some not so good!

MY GOALS ARE TO:

Enhance our current city planning process and establish a "Citizen's Advisory Committee" that would utilize greater technical support. The committee would consists of architects, engineers, landuse experts and citizens of our community to assist our City Council on future developments.

Utilize three-demensional renderings for future developments to help us better understand the projec in terms of height, set-backs footprint and mass.

Encourage "televised" study sessions to keep the community more informed.

Protect and preserve our General Plan. ("If it isn't broken, why fix it?")

Expand relations with our sister cities and explore the idea of joint venturing future projects.

Support a Teen & Senior Center

Work closely with our school district toward the continued improvement of our educational system

Support a solid fiscal budget policy

AND, Most Importantly: LISTEN to and RESPECT input from all citizens of our Community!

I bring a blend of experience, character, dedication, and a 110 percent committment to our community. I look forward to serving with our other City Council Members in making our city plans, goals and direction a reality.
