Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Torrance Unified School District

1. My husband and I purchased our home in Torrance 24 years ago. We chose Torrance because of the good reputation of the neighborhood schools. Our girls attended Torrance school and both are graduates of West High School and California Universities. While they were in school, I became very involved with the PTA, and served 14 years on the PTA board, two years on PTA Council, two years on Site Council at Towers and two years Site Council at West high School. I am a recipient of the PTA Honorary Service Award. I am a Block Captain for Neighborhood Watch. I attended a six week Torrance Police Community Awareness Program. I participated in a Torrance Disaster drill where I played the part of a vacationing tourist from Germany who didn't speak English. For the past ten years I have been employed by the Torrance School District as a Para-Educator. I am familiar with our school programs and the needs of the children who attend our schools.
