Ellie Sluis knows that Novato is a special place that needs the best leaders. A former teacher and educator, Ellie knows it is important to our families, to protect our quality of life and core values for future generations. The best things that Ellie Sluis will do as an elected Novato Councilmember are balance the budget and protect Novato's Homeowners, Schools, Neighborhoods, Local Businesses, and Environment from overdevelopment.

2002-2007 Ellie Sluis worked on Novato Community Strategic Oversight Committee, and trained in the following programs: Leadership Novato Chamber of Commerce, Environmental Forum, Leadership Energy and Environmental Design, Sonoma State.

Ellie Sluis belongs to: Marin Conservation League, California Grand Jurors' Association, Historic Guild, Sierra Club, Sustainable Novato and the American Association of University Women.

1965-2000 Teacher in California; 1958 + 1960 Teacher US Air Force, Turkey and France; 1959-1984 Ellie and her husband raised three children; now a proud grandmother of four. 1957 - University of California, BA Child Psychology.
