School Board Trustee Ben Johnson has served on the Alvord Board of Education for twelve years. During that time the district has experienced positive advances in academics and facility improvement at all schools in the district. In addition to his service as an Alvord Trustee, Ben has a legacy serving our community. He is a committed citizen who has already established himself with a distinguished record of volunteer and community service efforts. His dedicated volunteer work has earned him recognition as the recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award for Riverside County, and the Volunteer of the Year Award from the JC Penney Points of Light Program. His service to the community is not limited to the Alvord community. Ben has served in a variety of leadership and service roles including the Vice-Chair of both the Human Relations Committee and the City of Riverside Charter Review; a member of the Riverside Blueprint for Diversity, Raincross Club, a member of the Board of directors for the Youth Service Center; Director of Homeless Outreach and President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Association. Ben continues to focus his efforts on student achievement, school safety, and facility improvement. His focus on school improvements has enabled the district to add 200 permanent classrooms in the last four years including those at the district's two new elementary schools: Lake Hills and Stokoe Elementary. Through fiscal responsibility the district has also been able to maintain class size reduction kindergarten through third grade, while not laying off any employees. Ben earned his Batchelor's degree from the University of California at Irvine. He is currently a district sales manager with Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Ben's faith and his family are his priority. He and his wife Stacy were married in 1991 they have four daughters Rebekah, Anastacia, Rachel, and Abigail. They are active members of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside.Charter Review Committee. |
