Uninterrupted Water SupplyBy Marcia Ann Cohn-LyleCandidate for City Council member; City of Foster City | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
An uninterrupted water supply protects the safety of the citizens of Foster City in case disaster strikes. An uninterrupted fresh-water supply can be obtained by joining forces with San Mateo at a Third Ave. site located next to the waste-water plant. Desalination, a proven, cost-effective technology used to remove salt from saltwater, can use the local bay water we are surrounded by rather than the Hetch-Hetchy water supply that is currently piped in. Disaster could affect this critical supply and leave those of us on the ISLAND of Foster City high and dry. |
